How we work

Six steps. Fixed fee. Written output.

Every engagement runs the same way. Scope agreed, fee fixed, report delivered to a defined timetable.

STEP 01 Get in touch.

Contact CALON with a short description of the project and which review fits, or ask the team to recommend one. We respond within one working day with a clear next step.

STEP 02 Fixed fee, in writing.

Within two working days of the first conversation, we send a written proposal: scope, deliverables, timetable, and fixed fee. If it needs refining, we refine it. Nothing proceeds until the scope and fee are agreed in writing.

STEP 03 Sign and send.

A short, solicitor-reviewed NDA is signed by both parties. We send a document request naming exactly what the review needs, and you send it back by secure email or file transfer.

STEP 04 We review.

Our team assesses the documents against the relevant CALON framework. Where evidence is missing, the gap is recorded as a finding rather than chased. Findings are checked and calibrated internally before the report is drafted.

STEP 05 Report and invoice.

You receive a written report: the rating, ranked findings, a prioritised action list, and the evidence basis. The invoice is issued the same day, on thirty-day payment terms, at the fee agreed.

STEP 06 Close-out.

Where the recommendation was proceed with conditions, you act on those actions. Once you confirm them complete, we review the updated evidence and confirm clearance in writing, at no additional charge.

What you can expect

The practical answers.

Turnaround

5 working days for a small project, 10–30 days for medium and large, scaled to capital value. A firm delivery date is confirmed in writing at booking.

Output

A written report with findings ranked by severity and impact, and a clear set of recommendations, suitable for submission to Cabinet, Audit Committee or Scrutiny Panel before sign-off.

After delivery

Reasonable follow-up questions on the report are answered by email at no additional charge. Substantive new work is scoped to a new fixed fee.

Not included

Our team does not design, build, or manage delivery, and does not advise once a contractor is appointed. Recommended actions are for you to close out before the tender is issued.
