Services

Four ways to test a project before the market does.

Each review answers one question an experienced contractor will ask anyway, about scope, contract, buildability or cost, while there is still time to act on the answer.

Four services, delivered by the same team, on the same principle: everything happens before a contractor is appointed, while a finding is still a correction and not yet a claim.

"Is this package ready for the market?"

Tender Gap Analysis

Scope, specification, drawings and site/ground risk information reviewed as one set, for the ambiguities, missing scope and contradictions a contractor would price around or later claim against.

From £3,000
"Are you accepting unintended exposure?"

Contract Review

Contract particulars, scope, pricing documents and any bespoke amendments checked for internal contradictions, unintended risk transfer and drafting gaps before the tender package goes to market. Commercial and contractual assurance, not legal advice, matters requiring legal interpretation are identified for referral to the client's legal adviser.

From £2,000
"Can this design actually be delivered efficiently?"

Design Buildability Review

Independent check that a consultant's design can actually be built efficiently as drawn, including sequencing logic and multi-discipline coordination. Gaps identified before they become change, never extending into a contractor's own construction method.

From £3,500
"Where is cost embedded unnecessarily?"

Value Engineering Review

Design elements that are expensive to build relative to their function identified, with lower-cost alternatives flagged for the client's design team to evaluate, without compromising design intent.

From £2,500
Pricing

Indicative pricing, scaled to project value.

Ranges below are typical, not quoted. Your fixed fee is confirmed in writing before any work begins, scaled to the capital value of the project rather than guessed document volume.

Pricing is scaled to project capital value, since document volume cannot be known before engagement, and higher-value schemes typically carry greater interface complexity, commercial exposure and assurance responsibility. The fixed fee is always confirmed against the defined review scope before appointment. Turnaround estimates assume no concurrent engagement; CALON confirms a firm delivery date at the time of booking and will notify the client immediately of any change. Every report ends with a clear set of recommendations, not just a list of findings.

Full Pre-Tender Assurance is all four reviews commissioned together, roughly 12% below booking them separately. Each review still stands on its own lens and produces its own findings, this is a discount for instructing all four at once, not a fifth, broader service. Combined turnaround is agreed as a single realistic programme at booking, not the four individual turnaround windows added together.

How fees work

Transparent pricing. By design.

Fixed in writing

Every scope and price agreed in writing before any work begins.

Defined scope and outcome

Every engagement is agreed against a defined scope and outcome, not billed by the hour.

Proportionate to procure

CALON engagements are deliberately bounded and fixed-fee, straightforward to commission through many organisations' low-value procurement procedures. Clients remain responsible for applying their own procurement rules.
